Carly Plays Influencer
Since I’m a chronically online member of Gen Z, I spend a lot of time on TikTok. This is how I start my mornings — rotting in bed for a solid 20 to 30 mins just “watching my stories” as I like to call it.
As a result, I have a lengthy list of my favorite influencers. These are the creators that I’m excited to see every time they pop up on my FYP.
So I thought I would try to influence you to follow my favorite influencers.
I got the idea to write this after reading Laura’s recent blog about what to believe on the internet. I told her she just needs to find some influencers whose opinion she can trust!
Plus, I’ve already written too many of these blog entries about books, so I had to resort to my more shameful pastime — scrolling on the internet.
Carly’s Favorite Influencers:

Brady Lockerby - You all know by now that I spend a significant amount of my time reading. Well, Brady is my favorite part of booktok. She has a very similar taste in books to me (which is hard to find!) and I always trust her recommendations. My TBR continues to grow thanks to her and her videos.
Clara Peirce - Clara is known for her “Sunday Reset” videos where she cleans her house in the time it takes to wash and dry her sheets. On paper, this sounds incredibly boring but they’re very satisfying to watch. She also travels a lot, thrifts and loves to host. So I’m obsessed with pretty much all of her content. And she has a bunny named Polly (how adorable!).
Mary Skinner - Mary is BFFs with Clara and she currently lives in Edinburgh. I got hooked on her page when she took a trip to Finnish Lapland just a few short weeks before we left on our honeymoon. Those videos really helped me get through those last doomed days of wedding planning. Now, whenever Clara and Mary are on a trip together I just patiently wait for the next vlog to be posted.
Emilie Kiser - I just like her vibe. She also cleans her house a lot (why do I like these cleaning videos so much?) AND she has a bob so I’ve been turning to her for styling help after my post-wedding 16 inch chop.
Caroline Bankston - She’s on this list for the outfit inspo. Does she have the same style as me? No. Am I often able to copy the outfits she puts together with items from my own closet? Also no. BUT she has the coolest style! I mostly just follow so I can fangirl from afar. She also lives somewhere where she’s able to walk to restaurants and bars to meet up with her family for happy hour??? The dream.
Emily Sarre - She’s new to the line up. I originally got served her videos because she was uber-obsessed with Heated Rivalry earlier this year (who wasn’t?) and now I just like her stuff because she is super funny. Always giggling when her content pops up.
