Leadership from Big Brothers Big Sisters – Michigan Capital Region will have the opportunity to attend Leadership Lansing, the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce’s leadership initiative, at no cost this year thanks to a contribution from Resch Strategies.

Matt Resch, founder of the Lansing-based public relations and public affairs firm, said the scholarship is being offered for the seventh consecutive year.

“Leadership Lansing provides community leaders with training and support to strengthen their organizations and the Lansing region,” said Matt Resch, president of Resch Strategies. “We’re proud to award our scholarship to help local nonprofits like Big Brothers Big Sisters make a difference in our community.”

The Resch Strategies Leadership Lansing Scholarship was first established in 2015 to encourage area non-profit leaders to participate in the program by covering the full cost of tuition. Participants in the program engage in seven workshops over the course of eight months where they are exposed to key local institutions, industry sectors and business leaders.

For more than 65 years locally, Big Brothers Big Sisters – Michigan Capital Region has focused on helping children realize their potential to succeed and thrive in life. BBBS facilitates and supports meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers and youth, which have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

“I’m looking forward to participating in Leadership Lansing, thanks to support from Resch Strategies,” said Megyn Forest, executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters – Michigan Capital Region. “I’m excited to bring leadership skills back to our organization that will benefit the youth and communities we serve.”

Past recipients of the scholarship are Arts Council of Greater Lansing, Child and Family Charities, Hospice of Lansing, Transformation GEMS Women Entrepreneur Startup Accelerator, Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center, Davies Project for Mid-Michigan Children, and First Tee of Mid-Michigan.
